About All The Things We Eat

This newsletter started off as the sidekick of my food blog, All The Things I Eat. Now the newsletter is growing, so it only seems fitting that the food I eat becomes the food that we eat.

We’re launching a new subsection, All The Things We Read, a cookbook review helmed by Annmarie Pisano. All The Things We Read will run less frequently, and appear as a standalone newsletter (but don’t worry, we’ll include each issue in our weekly Food Notes).

Food Notes will continue to publish weekly. That’s like field notes, but about food. Each week I lead in with some kind of personal story related to food followed by a roundup the hottest, silliest, goofiest, and interesting food news.

I also published original recipes irregularly, but these aren’t sent out to the whole email list (they get pushed out on the week’s Food Notes).

On All The Things I Eat, I publish original, blog-sized restaurant reviews, food histories, food book reviews, and longer form narratives about food I’ve cooked. I’m also open to interviews with food writers about their food books and food industry insiders who want to talk about restaurants or food products.

Is It Really About The Things You Eat?

Yes, on the blog, I’m writing about things that I eat. The newsletter includes links to food news items that I may not have eaten, but that I think are interesting.

Why Do I Care What You Eat?

My goal is to make food accessible and interesting. It’s not just about eating food, but the experience of eating food.
